As radio stations in North and South America, AM stations in particular, move to claim the value of the high-dollar property they’re sitting on, the demand for Kintronic Labs’ multiplexed directional antenna system products has significantly increased. Most recently, Kintronics was chosen by the second-largest U.S. radio group Cumulus Media to provide the equipment to facilitate the move of WMAL-AM, one of the top news stations in the D.C. market, to WSPZ AM’s transmitter site in Germantown, MD. As part of the contract, KTL is supplying a prefabricated concrete transmitter building completely outfitted with the directional antenna phasing system; custom bulkhead feedthrough panels; main/aux/dummy transfer switch; transmitter dummy load; AC power electrical subsystem, including main/generator automatic transfer switch, electrical distribution panel, and lights and receptacles; and dual-redundant HVAC system.
