Broadcom International recently released a report on the commissioning of a diplexer supplied by LS Telcom of South Africa for the Sentech MW site in Welgedacht, South Africa. Kintronic Labs supplied the DRM-capable antenna system consisting of the diplexing unit for the operation of 2×50 kW operating frequencies (540 kHz and 702 kHz) connected to a 126 m triangular guyed lattice mast fitted with a 6-wire rhombic feed skirt attached at the top of the antenna mast.
The customer noted exceptional agreement between the predicted performance of the antenna system and the actual as-built performance. This is another demonstration of the relatively flat input impedance characteristics resulting from the use of a rhombic skirt-fed mast.
